Tipton
Schakleford's (George Schakleford)--7 miles south of Tipton. 1/4
mile south, the stage turned onto the old Booneville road and
followed it south to Springfield.
Mulholland's--13 miles from Schakleford's. South through the
outskirts of Cole Camp to Burn's Station.
Burn's--20 miles south of Schakleford's.
Warsaw--15 miles south from Burn's Station. Forded the Osage River
and crossed the Pomme de Terre River on a covered bridge near
Fairchild.
Bailey's--11 miles south from Warsaw.
Quincy--10 miles from Warsaw.
Passed through Wheatland and Elkton to Yoast's Station.
Yoast's--16 miles from Quincy.
Bolivar--16 miles from Yoast's Station. Station located at the old
Franklin Hotel, owned by Ahab Bowen.
Smith's--11 miles from Boliver. Station at the home of James H.
M. Smith.
Evan's--
Springfield--9 miles from Evan's.
Ashmore's--16 miles south of Springfield. Run by John C. Ashmore.
Smith's--7 miles SW from Crane, MO. Operated by John J. Smith.
Followed Flat Creek to Crouch's Station.
Crouch's--15 miles SW of Smith's Station (John D. Crouch). Passed
through Cassville, MO, to Harbin's Station.
Harbin's--1 mile south of Washburn, MO, 16 miles from Crouch's. 6
miles to Arkansas state line.

ARKANSAS
Elk Horn Tavern--not a designated station, but a popular rest
stop.
Callahan's--A tavern operated by Dennis Callahan. Located near
the present location of the railroad in the east part of Rogers, AR.
(Rogers did not come into existence as a city until some twenty-three
years later.) South through Cross Hollows, then through a nearly
community kown as Mudtown, now known as Lowell, AR, to
Fitzgerald's.
Fitzgerald's--located in the early community of Shiloh, AR. The
stone barn and stables built there by the Butterfield construction
crew is one of the few remaining original Butterfield station
structures still remaining. Shiloh later changed its name to
Springdale in 1875. Stage stopped at the Gladden Hotel (razed 1972).
Fayetteville--12 miles south of Fitzgerald's Station. Route ran
southwest through Cato's Springs and Hog Eye.
Park's--just south of Hog Eye. Through Strickler (now Fall
Creek).
Brodie's--
Woolsey's--Actually the Signal Hill Station. The station's log
home still stands on property owned by Mrs. C. C. Collier a few
miles west of the city of Winslow, AR. Down Signal Hill, and on
to Van Buren, where the stage crossed the Arkansas River on a flat
boat (ferry began in 1860), about 5 or 6 miles east of Fort Smith.
Ft. Smith--Division Center, distribution point, and junction point
of the south bound coaches and the Memphis mail and passengers.
Route crossed the Poteau River into Indian Territory.
